The Balkan Wines Fest will be held for the first time in Russia on 23 April 2019 in the very heart of Moscow in the world known historical hotel Metropol 5*, just 400m from Kremlin and Red Square.
The Fest will be held under the Black Sea Winemaking Forum auspices.
The popularity of Balkan culture - tourist destinations, music, dances, cinema, cuisine and wine – is a fast growing phenomenon in Russia nowadays. The Balkan restaurants and new wave of premium Balkan wines are getting more and more popular among Moscovites and bohemians from other big cities.
New wave of the Balkan winemakers is approaching the global markets. And friendly Russia is a quite interesting destination for that. Russia is the third biggest wine importer in Europe with the total value of the wine and spirits of the vitivinicultural origin market of about 5 bln USD. It is also needed to add that the per capita wine consumption in Russian cities is growing.
The Fest consists of the following activities:
• exhibition-tasting of winemaking enterprises (wines and spirituous beverages);
• master classes and companies’ video presentations;
• quizzes on Balkan wines, live Balkan music and authentic food for the audience.
The audience of the Fest will consist of the owners, executives and top employees of the companies representing the wine trade and related business sectors (retail, HoReCa, import and distribution) as well as the representatives of the wine departments of federal and regional retail chains, owners of enotecas, wine shops and wine boutiques, sommeliers, cavistes, wine journalists, wine experts, critics and bloggers; the official trade representatives from the embassies of the countries of the region responsible for the winemaking sector and top Moscow private wine lovers.
